How did you find out about the eda?
I was introduced to EDA by Coach Spencer Nunez and Derick DeLaRosa. I’ve known them for a year now. It’s been a pleasure to play for Coach Spencer Nunez for this past year. I transferred a year ago, not knowing anyone, and Coach Spencer made a welcoming experience. I had the pleasure of meeting Derick DeLaRosa at the Jefferson Baseball program.
WHAT DOES THE EDA OPPORTUNITY MEAN TO YOU?
This EDA scholarship means a lot to me. It’s not just a chance to continue playing the sport I love, but also an opportunity to grow as an athlete and a person. It shows that my hard work, dedication, and passion for the game are being recognized, and that motivates me to keep pushing forward. I’m grateful for the chance to represent myself, my school, and my community, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. It’s not only to play the sport I love, but it’s also to help me find where to continue my education.
Share a little bit about your background...
Growing up, I’ve faced my share of challenges, both on and off the field. There were times when resources were limited, and I had to work twice as hard to keep up. Having a single mom, I saw her fight to give my brother and me the best and push us hard, because, just like she says, “Nothing is given, you earn it.” But through it all, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, discipline, and staying focused on my goals. Baseball has always been an outlet for me, a way to stay grounded and motivated.
tell us one fun fact about yourself...
When I’m off the field and not training, you’ll catch me by the water fishing. I also help feed the homeless through my church.
What career would you like to do?
Pro baseball player and I want my degree in business administration and own my own company.
